Mary Cronos

Mary Cronos (born March 29, 1987 in Rüdersdorf near Berlin ) is the pseudonym of a German artist, entrepreneur and author. Her real name is Maria Schucklies .

As a writer, she primarily writes in the genres of fantasy and crime . Her podcast formats Carpe Artes and In Flagranti are broadcast with changing guests every first Saturday of the month on Radioplanet Berlin. She works as a photographer (primarily in the LARP and cosplay area ), illustrator and cover designer under the Colors of Cronos label . Since 2013 she has also been involved in the charity project Mission: Change for charitable purposes.

life and work

Cronos studied Protestant theology at the Humboldt University in Berlin and the University of Greifswald . She graduated with an exam in 2015. Since 2013 she has been working as a freelance artist in the fields of photography , design and illustration . She is represented as an author by the Langenbuch & Weiß literature agency .

In 2019, Cronos and her colleague Sabrina Schuh launched the Fakriro project , which supports independent authors in the presentation of their works. B. through exhibition stands, book signing sessions or virtual events. In the course of the corona pandemic , the first Fakriro online fair took place in 2020 as a replacement program for the Leipzig Book Fair , which was no longer available .

Cronos' debut, the high fantasy series Nafishur , was self- published from 2015 . Since then, Cronos has published numerous novels. Her publishing debut, the mystery novel Houston Hall - Shadows of the Past was published by Droemer Knaur in 2018 and was nominated for the German Fantasy Prize in the category 'Best Novel' in 2019 . There he reached the shortlist of the best five titles.

Mary Cronos has been a member of the Selfpublisher Association since autumn 2019 and part of the Phantastik authors network PAN since spring 2020 .

In November 2019 Cronos was a guest at Neo Magazine Royale by Jan Böhmermann as part of the satire show Let monitor you . It was parodied there by Oliver Kalkofe , among others .
