Mary Howard
Mary Howard (actually Mary Rogers ; born May 18, 1913 in Independence , Kansas , † June 6, 2009 in Manhattan , New York City ) was an American actress .
Life
Mary Rogers was the daughter of the famous comedian Will Rogers . She started her career under her maiden name; together with her twin sisters she belonged to the Ziegfeld Follies ; she played alongside Bert Lahr on Broadway . She then got a contract with MGM and played thirty roles by 1942, including in Abe Lincoln in Illinois . During the Second World War she was part of the care for wounded soldiers.
In 1945 she married the producer Alfred de Liagre junior and withdrew from active business. Later she worked in several honorary positions for charitable organizations.
