Mary Kay Letourneau ( All-American Girl: The Mary Kay Letourneau Story ) is an American television film released in 2000.
action
The film tells the true story of the teacher Mary Kay LeTourneau (played by Penelope Ann Miller) and her love affair with her 12-year-old student Vili (played by Omar Anguiano).
Mary Kay is a perfectly normal woman. She is married with 4 children and works as a teacher. There doesn't seem to be any external problems. In fact, she and her husband are broke almost all the time and arguments are inevitable. She begins a love affair with her then only 13-year-old student Vili, with whom she feels a soulmate. Both eventually begin to sleep with each other, from which Mary Kay becomes pregnant. Her husband's cousin Steve finally reports them. However, since Vili does not see herself as a victim and his mother also testifies in court for Mary Kay, she is only sentenced to a low prison sentence, which was compensated by the remand. She is required to take part in therapy and is forbidden from any contact with minors without supervision. So she is not allowed to see her children or Vili regularly. The child of the two, a girl, is raised by Vili's mother. Nevertheless, she meets with Vili, both are caught by the police on the back seat of a car. They had a passport with them, a large sum of money and baby things, presumably for their child. Now Mary Kay has to go to prison for 7½ years, where she has Vili's second child, again a girl, who is also taken in by Vili's mother.
