Masaharta
Masaharta was during the 21st Dynasty ( Third Intermediate Period ) around 1054-1046 BC. Chr. High Priest of Amun in Thebes .
family
Masaharta was the son of the high priest Pinudjem I and Isetmachbit I. His siblings included Psusennes I and his later wife Mutnedjmet , the high priests Mencheperre , Djedchonsiuefanch and the " wife of God of Amun " Maatkare .
Regency
As the successor to his father Pinudjem I, who assumed the title of king ( Pharaoh ), Masaharta had been high priest in Thebes since the 16th year of his reign. One of his tasks there was the reburial of royal mummies .
After only eight years of reign, Masaharta died around 1046 BC. Maybe after an illness. From his reign there is a relief in the Temple of Karnak , a small gateway east of the 9th pylon and a small falcon statue that is now in Brussels. Some shabtis have been preserved from his burial .
