The Masnerkopf is 2828  m above sea level. A. high summit in the Samnaun group in the Austrian state of Tyrol .

Location and surroundings

The Masnerkopf is located in the northern ridge of the Samnaun group between the Paznaun Valley in the north and the Upper Inn Valley in the south. The neighboring mountain in the north, separated by the Hexensattel, is the 3035  m high Hexenkopf in the south, the 2780  m high Minderskopf. On the slope of the mountain is the Hexenseehütte (2588 m) located on Hexensee , which is one of the most important bases for climbing the Hexenkopf. In winter, the Masnerkopf is located in the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis ski area and is accessible with a 6-seater chairlift that replaced the Minders drag lift in 2011.

Ascents

The easiest ascent is from the Hexenseehütte , which can be reached from Serfaus via the Scheid (2429 m) and the Arrezjoch (2557 m) in 5 hours or from Pfunds via the Serfauser Ochsenberghütte (1872 m). The path leads from the hut over the Hexensattel on a moderately steep, stony path to the summit. This route over the northeast ridge takes about 45 minutes.
