Masoud Haji Akhondzadeh

Masoud Haji Akhondzadeh ( listen ^{? / I} Persian مسعود حاجی آخوندزاده; * April 29, 1978 in Mashhad ) is an Iranian judoka .

Akhondzadeh has been one of the best fighters in the world since the early 2000s. In 2001 and 2002 he was Asian champion in the category up to 60 kilograms. At the Judo World Championships in 2003 he was seventh after a defeat against German Oliver Gussenberg .

In his Olympic debut in Athens in 2004 , he reached fifth place.
