Yoon Hyun (born April 5, 1966 ) is a former South Korean judoka . In 1991 he was runner-up in the world championship and in 1992 Olympic runner-up in the extra light weight category, up to 60 kg.
Athletic career
Yoon Hyun won a bronze medal at the 1989 World Championships in Belgrade. Two years later he reached the final at the World Championships in Barcelona and was defeated by the Japanese Tadanori Koshino . In the same year he won the title at the Asian Championships in Osaka.
At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Yoon Huyn defeated the Israeli Amit Lang in his first fight with a penalty for Lang (chui). In the last sixteen he won against Venezuelan Willis García by Ippon after four minutes, the quarter-finals against Poland's Piotr Kamrowski were won by Yoon Huyn by a judge's decision (yusei-gachi). The South Korean also had to cover the full distance in the semi-finals, defeating the German Richard Trautmann with a coca rating. Yoon Hyun lost the final through a coca rating against Nazim Hüseynov from the United Team .
In addition to his championship medals, Yoon Hyun also won several international tournaments in his career, with his World Cup victories in Leonding in 1989 and in Munich in 1991 in the semi-light weight category, one weight class higher.
