The Rheinaue nature reserve between Büderich and Perrich is located in the area of ​​the city of Wesel in the Wesel district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The area, which consists of two sub-areas, extends west and south-west of the core city of Wesel and north and north-east of the Wesel district of Büderich along the north and east flowing Rhine . The B 58 runs through the area and the Lippe flows to the east .

meaning

A 326.47 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve for Wesel since 1988 under the identification number WES-029. The area was placed under protection in order to maintain and develop a near-natural, regularly flooded Rhine floodplain with numerous biotope structures and communities typical of floodplains .
