The nature reserve extends for around four kilometers over fore dikes along the Rhine between the Bislicher localities of Marwick in the south and Vahnum in the north. The lower floodplain areas are regularly flooded by the Rhine.
The NSG Droste Woy, Rheinaue between Wesel and Bislich borders directly south of Bislich . On the opposite side of the river there is the NSG Reeser Schanz, Rheinaue between Obermörmter and Vynen, at Gut Grindt and Haus Lüttingen .
Flora and fauna
In addition to poplars , head willows and willow bushes can be found within the area . However, parts of the total area are released for pasture use.
