It leads through several neighboring protected areas and goes back to a funding project of the NRW Foundation and the NABU , in the context of which various historical forms of the rural cultural landscape are reconstructed, maintained and brought to life. This hiking trail opens up the southern area of the NSG Kleine Dingdener Heide and leads through the forest along the wet heath area. The cabaret artist Wendelin Haverkamp has been campaigning for the NRW Foundation since 1994 as a project sponsor for Dingdener Heide. The supervisor of the cultural landscape project is the biological station in the Wesel district, which also looks after the Kleine Dingdener Heide NSG.
