Wendelin Haverkamp (born December 30, 1947 in Bonn ) is a German cabaret artist , author , musician, composer and radio presenter and lives in Aachen .

Haverkamp became known to the general public through his numerous radio broadcasts on WDR, and above all through the character Anton Lie from the Karl-Heinz-Plum-Guminasium as well as through his collaboration with Hanns Dieter Hüsch on the radio show Hüsch & Haverkamp .

Life and work

Haverkamp attended high school in Düsseldorf , received his Abitur there and then studied philosophy and German . He was on stage for the first time as the bass player in a rock band. Numerous live cabaret programs followed, works for radio and television ( So isses ) as well as book and CD publications. In 1991 Haverkamp started the series of events ! Au Banan , to which he regularly invited cabaret artists, cabaret artists, musicians and authors who were friends. The events have been broadcast since 2001 as part of the entertainment series on WDR 5. On October 15, 2016, the series ended after 25 years with a closing event in the Stadttheater Aachen.

He is the co-author of several musical works by Jürgen von der Lippe (e.g. good morning, dear worries , then the worm is in , is what ).

His first play, King 2000 or the Battle of the Pippinids , premiered in 1999 under Haverkamp's direction in the Grenzlandtheater Aachen . In 2000 the new project Spielplatz 5vor12 - cabaret meets jazz quartet was added, which has been taking place as a series in the Düsseldorfer Kom (m) ödchen since 2005 . He is the author and director of the first German stick puppet cabaret Pech und Schwefel, which he regularly performs in the Aachener Barockfabrik in cooperation with the Öcher Schängchen .

For the Aachener Zeitung Haverkamp writes the glossary The final monthly review from the western tip, which appears regularly . In 1994 he sponsored the nature reserve Dingdener Heide in the Hohe Mark-Westmünsterland Nature Park for the NRW Foundation . In the same year he and Jürgen von der Lippe received the Adolf Grimme Prize for the program Geld oder Liebe .
