The Nördlicher Tüschenwald nature reserve is located in the municipality of Sonsbeck in the Wesel district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The area extends northwest of the core town of Sonsbeck and west of the Sonsbeck district of Labbeck . The state road L 77 runs to the north and east, the L 480 to the southeast, the L 460 to the south and the A 57 to the southwest .

The 424 hectare Uedemer Hochwald nature reserve extends to the north and the Grenzdyck nature reserve to the south-east .

For Sonsbeck, an area of ​​159.22 hectares has been designated as a nature reserve under the identification number WES-083 since 2002. The area was placed under protection in order to preserve and restore a near-natural oak-beech forest with the characteristic biotope types and communities.
