Kazuhiko Tokuno

Kazuhiko Tokuno ( Japanese 徳 野 和 彦 , Tokuno Kazuhiko ; * May 1, 1974 ) is a former Japanese judoka . He was second in the 1999 world championship and third in the 2001 world championship in the super light weight category up to 60 kilograms.

Career

Kazuhiko Tokuno won the title at the Asian Championships in New Delhi in 1995. In 1996 he finished second at the Jigoro Kano Cup behind his compatriot Tadahiro Nomura . At the beginning of 1997 he won the Tournoi de Paris . In late 1997, Tokuno won the title at the South Asian Games in Busan.

In 1998 he repeated his victory at the Tournoi de Paris. In April he won his first title at the Japanese championships against Tadahiro Nomura. At the Asian Games in Bangkok in 1998 , Tokuno won the title ahead of the Chinese Yang Bo . In 1999 Tokuno won his second Japanese championship title, again he defeated Tadahiro Nomura in the final. At the 1999 World Championships in Birmingham, he defeated the Mongol Dordschpalamyn Narmandach in the quarter-finals and the Belarusian Natik Bagirov in the semifinals , and in the final he was defeated by the Cuban Manolo Poulot .

In 2000 Tokuno took third place at the Japanese Championships, Tadahiro Nomura won and also took part in the 2000 Olympic Games. In 2001 Tokuno won the Tournoi de Paris and the Japanese championships. At the 2001 World Championships in Munich he was defeated by Tunisian Anis Lounifi in the semifinals , and in the battle for bronze he defeated Elchin Ismailow from Azerbaijan. In 2002 Tokuno lost in the final of the Japanese championships Masato Uchishiba . The following year he was defeated by Tahiro Nomura.
