Massacre is a town on the Caribbean island republic of Dominica and has about 1200 inhabitants.
Massacre is located on the west coast of Dominica in the district ( Parish ) St. Paul , approx. 6 km north of the capital Roseau , on the Massacre River of the same name .
The village was named in memory of a massacre ( English massacre ) of British troops to the Caribbean - Indians , in which in 1674 nearly 100 indigenous people were massacred. Today a mural on a house wall in the village reminds of this event.
