Massimilian Porcello (born June 23, 1980 in Bückeburg ) is a former German - Italian soccer player and today's coach.

Career

The offensive midfielder first played for SV Obernkirchen , JSG Lauenhagen , VfL Bückeburg and FC Gütersloh before moving to SC Paderborn 07 in 2000 . From 2000 to 2006, Porcello was under contract with Arminia Bielefeld . In 2002 he rose with the team in the 1st Bundesliga . The following season ended with relegation; after the 2003/04 season he rose again. In the 2004/05 season , Porcello scored his first hat-trick in professional football against SC Freiburg . His goal in the 3-1 win against Bayern Munich was followed by a strong second half of the season, which he finished as the team's best scorer. During this season he was elected Arminen of the 2004/05 season by the Bielefeld fans.

Because of several injuries in the 2005/06 season, he only played the first six games of the season and then no longer received the trust of coach Thomas von Heesen , so his contract, which was running out for the season, was no longer extended.

On July 1, 2006, he signed a two-year contract with the then second division club Karlsruher SC , with whom he was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2007. In February 2009, Porcello injured himself and then had to contend with knee problems. After a three-month injury break, the cruciate ligament tore, so that he had to pause for several months again. On November 28, 2010 he made his comeback in the professional squad of Baden against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen after almost two years of injury . His contract ran until 2011.

On July 19, 2011 Porcello signed a two-year contract with third division club VfL Osnabrück . After four missions at the beginning of the season, he missed the entire 2011/12 season due to a serious knee injury with subsequent surgery . He ended his career in 2013.

During his playing career, Porcello was best known for his strong shots, which repeatedly resulted in goals through artfully shot free kicks and long shots. An example is the goal in the 4: 4 of Karlsruher SC against FC Hansa Rostock on matchday 13 of the 2006/07 season, when Porcello converted a free kick from an estimated 35 to 40 meters straight to 2: 0.

In July 2014 Porcello returned to Arminia Bielefeld and was active there under the direction of Finn Holsing in the youth training center.

Porcello has been Maik Walpurgis' assistant coach at Dynamo Dresden since September 2018 , where he was dismissed on February 24, 2019.
