Massimo Morales (born April 20, 1964 in Caserta ) is a former Italian football player and current coach .

Player career

Massimo Morales was active as a player for Casertana .

Coaching career

Morales acquired the German B license in Munich in 1991 and the A license in 1995. The Italian worked from 1992 to 1994 as a junior coach at FC Bayern Munich . From 1994 to 1995 Morales was assistant to the professional team under Giovanni Trapattoni . Morales coached the Ghanaian first division club King Faisal Babes from 1995 to 1996 . From 1996 to 1998 he was employed as a scout at AC Milan . The Italian then worked for the Ghanaian Football Association , as an assistant to the national team and the U20.

In July 1999 Morales was Frans Thijssen's assistant coach at the Dutch honorary division De Graafschap . When Thijssen resigned at the end of August, Morales took over his position on an interim basis, a month later was replaced by Rob McDonald and was now his assistant. However, the two coaches did not get along, so that Morales left the club in November.

In 2000, Massimo Morales obtained his soccer teacher license (Diploma PRO UEFA) in Coverciano near Florence (Italy). From 2000 to 2003 he trained again in his home country. Potenza SC , Rondinella Calcio and Varese FC were the names of the stations. From April 2001 until the end of the season, Morales coached the Swiss club AC Bellinzona .

In the 2003/04 season he celebrated promotion to the regional soccer league with Fortuna Düsseldorf . At the end of November 2004 he was released and replaced by Uwe Weidemann . From December 23, 2005 to March 31, 2006 Morales was the coach of SV Waldhof Mannheim , he only looked after the team in two competitive games.

In April 2008 Morales was assistant coach at the Czech second division club FK Marila Příbram , shortly thereafter he took over the post of head coach, and in June 2008 he made promotion to the Czech first division.

At the end of October 2009 he took over the coaching position at the Hungarian first division club Honvéd Budapest . On November 13, 2010 he resigned after losing to local rivals Újpest Budapest .

After his station in Budapest, he worked as a TV expert for the sports channel Sky and as a freelance journalist for Gazzetta dello Sport, among others . On April 7, 2013, he succeeded Gerd Dais as head coach of the third division side Stuttgarter Kickers . On September 9, 2013, Morales was relieved of his coaching role with the Stuttgarter Kickers.
