Mathias Autret (born March 1, 1991 in Morlaix ) is a French football player .

Club career

Autret began playing football at a local club from Brittany , where he belonged to another club before he was accepted into the youth department of the professional club Stade Brest in 2007 at the age of 16 . At Brest he was in the first team's squad on January 14, 2010 at the age of 18 in a 2-1 win against Le Havre AC from the start, making his second division and professional debut. From then on he came as a regular or supplementary player in the attacking midfield to regular appearances; his first professional contract with validity from the 2010/11 season, however, he did not sign in Brest, but with the neighboring first division club FC Lorient , after he had also made the leap into the top French division with Brest.

In Lorient, however, he had to wait a long time to be used in the first team until he was substituted on on January 29, 2011 in a 2-0 win against his ex-club Brest in the 84th minute and thus reached his first division debut; this was followed by a few more games in which he came out as a wild card. In the course of the 2011/12 season he temporarily made the leap into the first team before he returned to work mainly as a substitute player in the following year.

As part of a transfer deal that saw left-back Raphaël Guerreiro move from SM Caen to Lorient, Autret took the reverse route and was loaned out to the second division team from Caen for a year. In this he was now on the left wing and made his contribution to the promotion to the first class achieved in 2014, before he returned to Lorient at the end of the season.

In Lorient he was no longer able to assert himself after his return and was rarely called up. In July 2015, he moved to RC Lens, who had previously been relegated to the second class, and was given a permanent place in the attacking midfield.

National team

Shortly after his breakthrough at Brest, Autret was considered for the French U-19 selection and made his debut for this in a 2-0 win against Denmark on March 31, 2010, where he was on the field from the start; However, he was not appointed to another assignment for a national selection.
