Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez (born June 29, 1990 ) is a former Swiss e-athlete .
Career
Before switching to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Quiquerez worked for smaller clans in Counter-Strike 1.6 from 2012 to 2010 and in Counter-Strike: Source from 2010 to 2012 . In 2010 he played for clan snook in the German ESL Pro Series . In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the Swiss player , who plays under the nickname Maniac , reached the finals in several major tournaments . At DreamHack Winter 2013 , Quiquerez and his Recursive eSports team made it to the quarter-finals. He achieved the same at EMS One Katowice 2014 with Team LDLC . Still playing for this organization, Maniac failed at ESL One Cologne 2014 with his team only in the semi-finals. At the beginning of September 2014, Quiquerez was included by Titan eSports after restructuring in the French “Counter-Strike landscape” . Under the new organization, Quiquerez was able to book podium places in the tournaments of ESEA , Star Ladder and Gfinity London in addition to the victories at DreamHack Stockholm 2014 and the Gamers Assembly 2015 . On September 23, 2015, Quiquerez was replaced at Titan by the Belgian Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom.
On January 10, 2016, Quiquerez was introduced as coach of the CS: GO team by Team EnVyUs .
But this adventure also ended in June 2016 because he missed active play. Two months later he therefore founded the Unity team with Jesper "TENZKI" Plougmann, Nicolai "glace" Jensen, Casper "cadiaN" Møller & Kevin "HS" Tarn , which was signed by Rogue.gg about 1 month later . The sporting successes failed to materialize and the team decided to replace Quiquerez.
On February 3, 2017, it was announced that Quiquerez will replace the outgoing Alexandre "xms" Forté at Team LDLC . Quiquerez played for this organization in 2013. The team won the 2017 ESports World Convention. In May 2018, Quiquerez announced the end of his career.
