Matija Stegnar (born February 23, 1978 ) is a former Slovenian ski jumper .

Stegnar began his international career in 1995 in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup . At the Junior World Championships in 1996 in Asiago , Italy , he won the bronze medal in team competition with Jaka Grosar , Primož Peterka and Peter Žonta . Despite a lack of success in the Continental Cup, he made his debut in the ski jumping World Cup on December 29, 1996 . He jumped to 50th place in Oberstdorf . In March 1997 he was nominated again for two World Cup competitions in his home country and was able to win World Cup points with 28th place in Planica's second ski flying , which was his last World Cup competition. With the points won he finished at the end of the 1996/97 World Cup season, tied with the Czech Jakub Janda and the Japanese Naoto Itō, 96th place in the overall World Cup ranking and 52nd place in the Ski Flying World Cup. After two more unfortunate years in the Continental Cup, Stegnar ended his active ski jumping career in 1999.
