Jaka Grosar (born April 4, 1978 in Kranj ) is a former Slovenian ski jumper .
Career
Grosar, who started for the SK Tržič Trifix club, made his international debut in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup in the 1994/95 season. In his first season he reached 127th place overall with 42 points. In his first appearance in the A-squad at the Ski Jumping Grand Prix 1995 it was enough for him with 189 points to rank 59 after four jumps, five points ahead of his compatriot Samo Gostiša, who was placed directly behind .
The 1995/96 season went better than the previous year from the start, so that he celebrated his debut in the ski jumping World Cup on January 14, 1996 in Engelberg, Switzerland . But it was only enough for 48th place. Two weeks later, Grosar won the bronze medal in team jumping at the Nordic Junior World Championships in 1996 with the team, which also included Matija Stegnar , Peter Žonta and Primož Peterka .
He finished the Continental Cup season in March in 63rd place overall. Shortly afterwards he jumped one more time in the World Cup from Holmenkollbakken in Oslo , but retired with the penultimate rank after the first round. In the following season 1996/97 he could no longer build on the achievements of the previous year. With only 84 points he was in the end on the 111th place in the Continental Cup overall ranking. Despite this poor performance, Grosar got the starting place for the Ski Flying World Cup in Planica in March . In the two jumping competitions he reached positions 48 and 45 and was again unable to place in the top of the world.
In his last two years in the Continental Cup until the end of his career, Grosar rarely achieved top placements and in the overall standings was only able to achieve a placement above the top 100. The best place was a second place on August 15, 1998 on the Średnia Krokiew in Zakopane .
