Mats Olof Östman (born October 4, 1946 in Örnsköldsvik ) is a former Swedish ski jumper .

Career

Östman, who started for IF Friska Viljor , made his international debut at the Four Hills Tournament in 1964/65 . He finished this in 47th place overall. He achieved the same placement in the following year at the Four Hills Tournament in 1965/66 . The best individual result was a 46th place on the Bergiselschanze in Innsbruck . For the following Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1966 he was not given a starting place.

At the Four Hills Tournament in 1966/67 , Östman in Oberstdorf on the Schattenbergschanze achieved the best individual result with rank 44, but he only finished the tour in 49th place overall. On his last tour in 1967/68 he started again on the Great Olympic Hill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , but did not get past 57th place there and 92nd place overall.

Despite this failure, he got a starting place in the Swedish team at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble . From the normal hill he finished 49th after weak 67.5 and 64 meters. From the large hill, Östman reached 52nd place with 83 and 79.5 meters.

In the course of his career, Östmann won four Swedish championship titles with the team.
