The Matschachliszqali ( Georgian მაჭახელისწყალი ; Turkish Maçahel Suyu ) is a right tributary of the Chorochi ( Çoruh ) in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara in southwest Georgia and in the Turkish province of Artvin .

The Matschachliszqali rises on the western flank of the Karçal Mountains . The river flows in a westerly direction through the Turkish district of Borçka along the southern flank of the Shavschet Mountains , the eastern ridge of which forms the state border with Georgia and over the entire length represents the watershed to Adschariszqali , which runs further north . At the settlement of Camili he crosses the border to Adjara after almost 20 km. There he continues his course to the west. It flows through the southeast of the municipality of Chelvachauri . The Skurdi flows into the river on the left. Finally the Matschachliszqali reaches the Chorochi, which flows north. The Matschachliszqali has a length of 37 km. Its catchment area covers 369 km². This corresponds to the historical region of Matschacheli . A national park called Matschacheli National Park is planned for the Ajarian part of the catchment area .
