The Mattawitchewan River is a 80 km long left tributary of the Missinaibi River in the north of the Canadian province of Ontario .
The Mattawitchewan River has its origin at the Albany Forks bifurcation of the Oba River . From this the Mattawitchewan River branches off to the right 4 km north of the village of Oba . The Mattawitchewan River flows mainly in an east-northeast direction. 25 km above the estuary, it crosses the district boundary from the Algoma District to the Cochrane District , taking in the Goat River from the right. Finally, the Mattawitchewan River reaches the Missinaibi River 35 km above Mattice .
