The Moose River is a river in Cochrane District in northern Ontario ( Canada ).

It flows from the confluence of the two rivers Mattagami and Missinaibi River 104 km northeast to James Bay . Its catchment area covers 108,500 km², the mean discharge 1370 m³ / s. Measured from the source of the Mattagami River, it reaches a total length of 547 km.

Moose River Bird Sanctuary

The Moose River Bird Sanctuary ( English Moose River Bird Sanctuary ) is located at the mouth of the Moose River and, in addition to Ship Sands Island, also includes a piece of land east of the river mouth. The reserve has an extension of 14.60 km².
