Matteo Meneghello

Matteo Meneghello (born June 8, 1981 in Abano Terme ) is an Italian racing driver .

Career

Meneghello began his motorsport career in karting in 1992 , where he was active until 2000. In 2001 he switched to the Italian Formula 3 championship and became champion of the federal class. In 2002 he switched to the Italian Formula Renault and finished tenth overall. In 2003 he competed in the British Formula Renault and was 14th in the overall standings.

In 2004 his main focus was the Formula Renault V6 Eurocup , in which he finished 22nd overall. He also started in a Euro Formula 3000 race and replaced Yannick Schroeder at Durango Corse in the international Formula 3000 championship for a race . He finished 23rd in the international Formula 3000 drivers' championship .

In 2005 Meneghello did not find a cockpit in the GP2 series , the successor to Formula 3000, and competed for EuroInternational in the World Series by Renault . Because of his involvement in an accident in Monte Carlo , in which a marshal was seriously injured, he was banned for four races together with Pastor Maldonado . After he had never finished in the points, he scored his first points in the championship in the last race and finished the season in 28th place overall. In 2006 he switched to GD Racing . After he could not convince on the first five race weekends, he was replaced by Carlos Iaconelli . In the overall ranking he was 35.

After he had not participated in any racing series since 2007, he entered a race in the Superstars Series , a touring car racing series based in Italy , in 2010 .
