Matthäus Fuchs (* 1830 in Lohr am Main ; † 1915 in Würzburg ) was a German administrative officer.

Career

From 1879 to 1897, Fuchs was the district administrator of the Alzenau district office . As chairman of the Freigerichter Bund, he was one of the founders of the Association of German Mountain and Hiking Clubs in 1883 . His wife Barbara was chairwoman of the Alzenau branch of the Bavarian Women's Association.

When he did not want to retire at the age of 67, the Lower Franconian District President, Count von Luxburg, collected alleged negligence in administration in order to be able to force Fuchs to retire. Finally, on October 14, 1897 , Prince Regent Luitpold signed the document with which Fuchs was retired. He then moved away from Alzenau.
