From 1987 to 1999 he headed the State Foundation Office Aschaffenburg in the rank of government director, which administers several historical foundations, among others from the Electoral Mainz era of the Lower Main. From 1990 to 1999 he held the honorary position of the second mayor of Alzenau.

Here the author presents the connections between the people and one of the most original cultural assets at the transition from the western Spessart to the plains of the Rhine and Main. One focus of his research is the noble families who lived at Wasserlos Castle. These include Prince Ludwig Eugen von Württemberg , Katharina Elisabeth Marquise du Chasteler and Ludovica (Lulu) Freifrau von des Bordes , née Brentano von La Roche.

He has been a member of the Aschaffenburg-Alzenau Lions Club since 1985 . There he was secretary in 1987/1988, vice-president in 1992/1993 and president in 1993/1994.
