The Deanery Alzenau is one of 20 deaneries in the Roman Catholic diocese of Würzburg .

It includes the former district of Alzenau in Lower Franconia with Kahl and Karlstein am Main and the entire Kahlgrund . It borders in the east / southeast on the deanery Aschaffenburg-Ost , in the south / southwest on the deanery Aschaffenburg-West , in the west on the neighboring diocese of Mainz and in the north on the diocese of Fulda .

Fifteen parishes, nine branches and four curatia have merged to form seven parish communities by 2010. St. Margaretha, Kahl am Main remains a single parish.

After the departure of Stefan B. Eirich, Mariusz Kowalski, pastor of the parish of St. Margareta Kahl am Main, took over the duties of the dean. Officially, however, he remains the deputy dean, to which he was elected in 2018.

The seat of the deanery is also located in Kahl am Main .
