The dean's office in Obernburg is one of 20 dean's offices in the Roman Catholic diocese of Würzburg .

It includes the former district of Obernburg am Main and some communities from the (northeast) of the old district of Miltenberg, today district of Miltenberg . In the east it borders on the deanery Aschaffenburg-Ost , in the south on the deanery Miltenberg , in the west on the diocese Mainz and in the north on the deanery Aschaffenburg-West and deanery Aschaffenburg-Stadt .

Eighteen parishes and four curatia have merged into nine parish communities by 2010. The parishes of St. Laurentius Sommerau with the branch of the Visitation of Mary in Hobbach and St. Nikolaus Wörth am Main remain individual parishes.

The dean is Markus Lang, coordinating pastor of the Ascension of Christ parish community, Kleinwallstadt. The administrative seat is in Kleinwallstadt .
