Matthew Smith (born March 13, 1997 in Dundee ) is a Scottish football player who plays for Waterford FC in Ireland.

Career

Matthew Smith played for numerous clubs in Scotland in his youth. He started his career with the Fairmuir Boys. He then played briefly in the Youth Academy of FC Aberdeen and Celtic Glasgow . He spent the longest time at FC St. Johnstone . He joined Dundee United in 2014 . As part of the club's U-20 team, he made his professional debut under Mixu Paatelainen in May 2016 . On the penultimate match day of the 2015/16 season against Partick Thistle , he was substituted on for Brad Smith . On the last match day against FC Kilmarnock he was used again.
