Matthias Jaissle (born April 5, 1988 in Nürtingen ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach. He is currently working as Alexander Zorniger's assistant trainer at Brøndby IF and is completing a bachelor's degree in sports business management.

Career

In the club

Jaissle started playing football at the age of four in 1992 with the juniors of TSV Neckartailfingen, and in 2001 he moved to the youth department of VfB Stuttgart . There he went through all junior teams from C to A youth. As a youth player, Jaissle was signed by the then regional league team TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in January 2007 . In Hoffenheim he was immediately used in the first team and in 2007 was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . With Jaissle as the youngest regular player, Hoffenheim made it through to the Bundesliga in the 2007/08 season .

In the first division, TSG Hoffenheim became autumn champions straight away . Jaissle was still a member of the team before a serious injury stopped him. After tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee joint in the Bundesliga match against Hannover 96 on March 21, 2009 , he was operated on. After further injuries, he did not play in the Bundesliga again until October 17, 2010. In the 2010/11 season he played a total of nine other Bundesliga games before injuring his Achilles tendon. This injury caused recurring problems that forced him to retire. He terminated his contract prematurely on February 13, 2014.

National team

On February 6, 2008 Jaissle made his debut in the German U-20 national team, a year later in the U21 , which was European champion in summer 2009 with players like Manuel Neuer , Jérôme Boateng and Sami Khedira . At that time, Jaissle was traded as an upcoming national team player. But it did not get that far, after his severe cruciate ligament injury in March 2009, Jaissle was no longer appointed to a DFB selection.

Coaching career

After the end of his playing career, Jaissle completed his first training as a coach and in 2015 took over the U16s from RB Leipzig as assistant coach to Sebastian Höneß , with whom he coached the U17s of the club for the 2016/17 season.
