Matthias Lang (director)

Matthias Lang (born August 3, 1986 in Bozen , Italy ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter who is known for his work on the children's film King Laurin .

Live and act

Lang trained as a production assistant in Munich from 2005 to 2006 . In 2006 he began studying directing at the University of Film and Television in Munich and was supported by the German National Academic Foundation from 2007 to 2011 as a scholarship holder . During his studies he made several short films, including the short film In Formatica , published in 2007 , which was awarded in the Best Editing category at the Jugend-filmt-Fesitval in Landshut . During his studies he gained practical experience in Los Angeles on the set of Criminal Minds and The Big Bang Theory , and in 2013 he worked as a production assistant for the German sitcom Bully macht Buddy .

The international co-production König Laurin was Lang's graduation film from the University of Film and Television, the film opened in German cinemas in September 2016 and was awarded the Golden Sparrow in the Best Film category.
