Matthias Wolk
Matthias Wolk (born October 26, 1970 in Bielefeld ) is a German media entrepreneur, journalist and TV and radio host .
Life
Matthias Wolk was born in Bielefeld. After graduating from high school in 1990, he studied sociology at Bielefeld University and then journalism at Hamburg University . During his studies he worked as a radio presenter and editor at Radio Hamburg and Radio NRW locally. He did his traineeship at ProSieben in Munich .
From 2005 to 2011 he worked for the WDR and moderated the programs Schön hier , Daheim & Unterwegs and Lokalzeit OWL , among others . With his company WolkTV (2001-2011) he also produced formats for various TV stations, for example the report series Wolks Welt , which was broadcast on Kabel eins .
In 2012 he founded the video agency realTV group, of which Matthias Wolk is currently co-owner. The company is based in Hamburg and Bielefeld . She specializes in web and image films as well as 360 ° videos and virtual reality . In July 2017, Wolk and Tim B. Frank founded VRtualX, a production company for virtual reality, augmented reality and 360 ° films. Since 2018 he has been a member of the nextReality.Hamburg team, an association promoting the VR and AR scene in Hamburg. As a lecturer, he is always on the subject of online videos at the Hamburg Media School .
Wolk is the sponsor of the Bethel children's hospice in Bielefeld. Since 2017 he has been a board member of the "Was Tun Foundation" for social engagement. He lives in Hamburg and Hohwacht (Baltic Sea) , is married and has two daughters.
