Matthias von Bülow († May 6, 1744 in Roermond ) was a Kur-Braunschweig-Lüneburg colonel and chief of a Reuter regiment .

Life

origin

Matthias was a member of the Mecklenburg noble family von Bülow . His parents were the heir to Borkow Matthias von Bülow and Catharina Magdalena, a daughter of the Braunschweigisch-Cellischen secret council and court marshal Hans von Petersdorff from the house of Lübzin and Witzin . They were buried in Bülow's hereditary funeral in the Woseriner church.

Career

Bülow entered the military service in Brunswick at a young age and in 1740 was promoted to colonel in a dragoon regiment. In 1742 he took over a Reuter regiment, which Heinrich Julius von Wintzer had held before him since 1738. The head of the regiment who followed him was Jakob d'Acerre († 1745) in 1744 . He died at the beginning of the march against France.

He was master of Borkow from his father's inheritance, but had also rebuilt part of the manor house on the manor in Gägelow .

family

Bülow married Augusta Friderica von Breitenbach (1700–1730), daughter of Georg Heinrich von Breitenbach and sister of the Brunswick Lieutenant General Georg Karl von Breidenbach († 1761). The marriage had three children.

  • Luisa Eleonora Wilhelmina, enrolled on September 7, 1728 under no. 176 for acceptance as a conventual in the Dobbertin monastery , ∞ Ludolph von Estorff (1708–1779), Major General of Hanover
  • Sophia Magdalena Elisabeth, Stiftsfräulein in Mariensee
  • Hans Friedrich Lotharius August (1730–1761), Hanoverian brigade major , Herr auf Borkow, co-signer of the regional comparison in 1755. He fell as major in Marburg on February 14, 1761. The estate in Borkow thus fell to his uncle, the monastery captain Jobst Heinrich von Bülow on Woserin .
