Matusiw ( Ukrainian Матусів , Russian Матусов Matusov ) is a village in Cherkassy Oblast in central Ukraine with about 4500 inhabitants (2001).
Matusiw is the only village in the district council of the same name in the northeast of Shpola Rajon .
The village is located on the Hnylyj Taschlyk ( Гнилий Ташлик ), a 66-kilometer tributary of the Tyasmyn, 16 km northeast of the Shpola district center and 64 km southwest of the Cherkassy oblast center .
Personalities
- On July 2, 1925, the mathematician Olga Arsenjewna Oleinik († 2001 in Moscow ) was born in Matusiw .
- The shot putter Oleksandr Bahatsch was born in the village on November 21, 1966.
