Maurice-Benjamin Bonard
Maurice-Benjamin Bonard (born September 2, 1803 in Le Lieu ; † April 3, 1870 ibid) was a Swiss politician . From 1854 to 1857 he was a member of the National Council.
biography
Bonard studied law at the Lausanne Academy from 1819 to 1824 . Like his father before him, he worked as a notary in his home town of Le Lieu in the Vallée de Joux from 1830 until his death . In addition, he served as clerk at the district court of the La Vallée district from 1834 to 1837 , from 1838 to 1851 as adjunct to the deputy public prosecutor and from 1854 to 1858 as agency manager of the Cantonal Bank of Vaud .
Bonard, who last held the rank of colonel in the military , represented radical liberal views. In 1831 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud , to which he belonged until 1866. He ran for the National Council elections in 1854 and was elected in the Vaud-West constituency. Three years later he waived re-election.
