Georges-Adolphe Flaction
Georges-Adolphe Flaction (born April 26, 1819 in Grandson , † March 24, 1869 in Yverdon ) was a Swiss politician . From 1855 to 1857 he was a member of the National Council.
biography
Flaction came from a family of doctors and surgeons that dates back to 1685. After studying medicine , he worked as a pharmacist in Lausanne from 1839 . In 1851 he graduated as a surgeon , and the following year as an obstetrician . From 1850 he practiced as a doctor in Lausanne, from 1852 in Yverdon.
Flaction, who stood on the side of the Liberals , belonged to the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud in 1845/46 . During this time he edited the magazine Le peuple souverain (The sovereign people). Flaction ran in February 1855 in a by-election in the constituency of Vaud-North , two years later he waived re-election as a national councilor. From 1865 until his death he served as Mayor of Yverdon.
