Maurice Marcel Gardès (born February 4, 1945 in Lyon ) is Archbishop of Auch .
Life
Maurice Gardès was ordained a priest on June 22, 1975 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Auch on December 21, 2004 . The Archbishop of Toulouse , Émile Marcus PSS , donated him episcopal ordination on February 6 of the following year ; Co- consecrators were Philippe Cardinal Barbarin , Archbishop of Lyon , and Maurice Fréchard CSSp , Archbishop Emeritus of Auch.
A criminal case against Barbarin as well as Archbishop Gardès and Bishop Thierry Brac de la Perrière for covering up sexual abuse was opened on January 7, 2019.
