Maurice Mességué
Maurice Mességué (born December 14, 1921 in Colayrac-Saint-Cirq (near Toulouse ), Département Lot-et-Garonne ; † June 16, 2017 in Auvillar ) was a French herbalist and successful author .
Live and act
The French "Herbal Pope" "preached" health science and nutritional science based on medicinal herbs since the early 1950s. Herbal medicine made Mességué known through numerous publications and helped the profession of phytotherapist so named by Henri Leclerc to gain considerable attention. According to his own statements, his experience is based on a 300-year family tradition. He had personalities such as B. Jean Cocteau , Winston Churchill , Robert Schuman , Maurice Utrillo and Federal Chancellor Konrad Adenauer dealt with or maintained contact with them. In 1958 he founded his first company in Fleurance in the Gers department , specializing in cosmetics with herbal ingredients and calling it Laboratoires des Herbes Sauvages .
From 1971 to 1989 Mességué was mayor of Fleurance. He warned the population of the risk of poisoning from pesticides and started a campaign in favor of an organic diet. In his company Fleurance chez Soi-Maison de Maurice Mességué he developed his cosmetic and herbal therapeutic product series. In April 1988 he received the L'Oscar de la Cosmétique award for his beauty oil IRIONE at the Düsseldorf trade fair . For this he took the combination of sisymbrium and borage oils from his grandfather's notes.
After founding the Institut Maurice Mességué , he retired from the business in 1994. The company Les Laboratoires Maurice Mességué continues to cultivate its philosophy.
Processes
From April 28, 1949 to May 6, 1968, numerous proceedings were initiated against the natural healer. Despite being banned from practicing, he continued to practice until he was acquitted in the final trial. The court proceedings were recently accompanied by up to 20,000 statements that testify to his success. The high-profile processes helped to certify Mességué as an exceptional figure (herbalist, miracle healer, etc.) and also contributed to his economic success.
