Maury Winetrobe
Maury Winetrobe (born July 6, 1922 in Chelsea , Massachusetts , † April 1, 2008 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American film editor .
Life
Winetrobe began his work in the film business as a music editor at Columbia Pictures and worked his way up to the head of the relevant department. In the late 1960s, he switched to film editing . Winetrobe was involved in 25 productions as a film editor up to and including 1988. Most recently, he worked with director Harold Becker on several productions .
For Funny Girl , his first production as a film editor, Winetrobe was nominated together with his colleagues Robert Swink and William Sands for an Oscar in the category Best Editing in 1969.
