Max Dasch (born June 15, 1946 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian publisher and editor of the Salzburger Nachrichten .

Life

Max Dasch studied philosophy at the University of Vienna before joining Süddeutscher Verlag in 1971. In March 1972 he became advertising manager at Salzburger Nachrichten and on July 18, 1975 its managing director.

From 1977 to 1994 Max Dasch was a member of the supervisory board of Kabel-TV Salzburg. Dasch was a member of the supervisory board of the Austria Press Agency (APA) from 1977 to 1984, chaired the board from 1981 to 1983 and was a member of the APA board from 1984 to 1993. Since 1977 he has been a board member of the Association of Austrian Newspapers (VÖZ).

In 1979 he founded the Verlagshausges.mbH and subsequently brought out a ring of weekly newspapers in the state of Salzburg .

After the death of his father Max Dasch in 1982 he took over the editing of the Salzburger Nachrichten, after having already become a partner in the Salzburger Nachrichten publishing company five years earlier. In 1989, he led the newspaper from the purely regional market to an Austrian edition and, with the simultaneous introduction of expanded local reporting (from 1995 in small format) and the takeover of the Ring of Salzburg Weekly Newspapers, also strengthened the paper's presence on the Salzburg newspaper market.

In 1997 Dasch paved the way for the website www.salzburg.com and in December was elected President of the Association of Austrian Newspapers, which he chaired until the end of 2001 and was then vice-president.

While he was the editor, Dasch was a board member of the Media-Analyzes association (1983–1986), president of the "Zeitung in der Schule" association (from 1995), member of the executive committee of VÖZ (since 1984), founding president of the Panathlon Club Salzburg (1987 –1990) and member of the board of directors of the tele-Zeitschriftenverlagsgesellschaft (1991–1997).

His son of the same name, Maximilian Dasch, moved up to the management on September 2, 2013, where he had been an assistant for four years.
