Max Erich Nicola

Max Erich Nicola (born June 1, 1889 in Berlin , † May 16, 1958 in Dresden ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

life and work

Max Erich Nicola studied at the Berlin School of Applied Arts with Emil Rudolf Weiß and in Hamburg with Willy von Beckerath . Then he was a master student of Arthur Kampf in Berlin. In 1919 he received the State Prize for Painting. Since 1947 he was a professor and university lecturer at the Dresden Academy . In 1949 he took part in the wall painting campaign of the second German art exhibition . Nicola was a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR .
