Max Juen (politician, 1885)

Max Juen (born December 31, 1885 in Zurich ; † March 12, 1935 in Bregenz ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP ) and employee. From 1934 to 1935 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Juen attended the five-class elementary school in Bregenz and then graduated from the Mehrerau grammar school in Bregenz for three years. After continuing his training for two years at the commercial school in Mehrerau, he completed an apprenticeship in the Schertler paper shop for two years and then became an employee at the Wilhelm Benger tricot factory in Bregenz-Vorloster. Between 1914 and 1918 he did military service as an accounting sergeant in the 3rd Battalion of the Kaiserschützen Regiment No. 2 during the First World War , where he was temporarily a prisoner of war in Italy and Albania. After his return from the war, he worked from 1920 to 1935 as an employee at Vorarlberger Kraftwerke AG , where he worked for 14 years in payroll accounting and one year in electricity accounting.

Politics and functions

Juen was a member of the Christian Social Party and later a member of the Patriotic Front. From 1933 he was a member of the local committee of the Fatherland Front and from 1934 was deputy local leader. He was in 1934 appointed as civil representatives of the profession and mining industry by the Vorarlberg provincial governor as a member of parliament and was Ständische subsequently during the time of the corporate state or the Austrofascism on November 14, 1934 until his death.

In addition to his political activities, Juen was involved in the invalids' association in Bregenz, was a member and from 1926 chairman of the Landeskameradschaftsbund as well as co-founder and chairman of the Kaiserschützenbund. He was also deputy chairman of the Federal Association of Brave Medal Holders in Austria. He was active in numerous other associations and was involved as a dance teacher in the Turnerbund Vorloster and as a teacher in the stenographers' association. He was also a member of the Bregenz parish church choir, a member of the Catholic workers' association and a member of the Catholic-commercial association Brigantia. He also held the position of local group chairman of the Central Association of Christian Employees in Bregenz, was a board member of the Vorarlberger Insurance Fund for Employees in Bregenz and a member of the Vorarlberg Home Guard.

Private

Juen was born as the son of Emil Elias Juen and Hedwig Albrecht (1852–1931). He married Elisabeth Schadhauser (1902–1987), born in Freutsmoos , in Absam on October 5, 1925, and in 1927 he had a daughter.
