Max Lehnerdt
Max Lehnerdt (born October 22, 1861 in Königsberg ; † 1945 ) was a German classical philologist and high school teacher .
Life
Max Lehnerdt studied from 1878 at the University of Königsberg , where he was a student of Gustav Hirschfeld , whose obituary he wrote. During his studies in 1878 he became a member of the Königsberg fraternity of Teutonia . In 1883 he received his doctorate in Königsberg . In 1884 he passed the examination for the higher teaching post. From 1885 to 1887 he taught at the grammar school in Lötzen , then he taught at the Kneiphöfischen grammar school in Königsberg until his retirement in 1927 .
In addition to his school service, he also continued to work scientifically and published primarily on the afterlife of antiquity in the Renaissance , so he also published the 3rd edition of Georg Voigt's The Revival of Classical Antiquity or the First Century of Humanism . He also contributed articles to Wilhelm Heinrich Roscher's Extensive Lexicon of Greek and Roman Mythology .
