Max Lienert

Max Lienert (born February 8, 1903 in Lucerne ; † May 24, 1964 there ) was a Swiss composer and music teacher .

Life

Max Lienert passed the Matura exam in 1921 , studied electrical engineering at the ETH from 1921 to 1923 and graduated with the first intermediate diploma. But then he turned to the music. He initially took private lessons and studied from 1926 to 1930 at the Jaques Dalcroze Institute in Geneva . He then completed further training at the State Prussian Academy for Church and School Music in Berlin with Professor Fritz Jöde and attended lectures at the University of Music

In 1931 Max Lienert returned to Lucerne, where he began working as a singing teacher at secondary schools. In April 1934 he married Emma Springinsfeld and they had five children.

In addition to his professional activity, Max Lienert turned to folk music and especially yodelling . In 1936 he took over the management of the Pilatus yodelling club, and for a time he also directed the Edelweiss Zofingen AG yodelling club and the Emmenbrücke LU workers' choir . In 1946, 1948, 1953 and 1962 he organized festivals in Lucerne. He also examined the theoretical foundations of yodelling.

Max Lienert was a board member of the Federal Yodelling Association and the Central Swiss Yodelling Association (ZSJV), which made him an honorary member in 1961. From 1954 to 1964 he worked on the program committee of the Central Switzerland radio and television company.
