Maxwell "Max" Records (born June 18, 1997 ) is an American actor .

Life

Records initially played a minor supporting role in a video for the indie rock band Death Cab for Cutie . He became known in the role of Max in the film adaptation of the book of the same name Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak . For this role he won a Young Artist Award in the category Best Actor in a Feature Film in 2010 and was nominated for Best Young Actor at the Saturn Awards . He took on another role in the adventure comedy Brothers Bloom .

His parents are Jenny Fleenor, a librarian, and Shawn Records, a photographer and teacher at several Portland schools . Shawn published the photo book “Owner Of This World” in 2009, which documents the shooting of the film Where the Wild Things Are from his point of view, as the father of Max. Max lives in north Portland with his parents and little brother Sam, where he attends a public school. He is a vegetarian by conviction, which is why he led the protest campaign for vegetarian options in the school canteen at the age of eight .
