action

The suspended student Noah Griffith is, on the one hand, a failure as he gives up everything he starts, but at the same time he is also a good-natured guy. Unfortunately, he is only being taken advantage of by his girlfriend Marisa Lewis.

One evening Noah steps in as a babysitter for the Pedullas because Ms. Pedulla wants to couple his single mother with a doctor at a charity event. While he is with the three children of the Pedullas, he receives a call from Marisa, who wants him to get cocaine for her so that her party can "go better". Since he is too good-natured and Marisa has also promised him sex for it, he simply takes the three children he was entrusted with, Slater, Blithe and their adoptive brother, Rodrigo Pedulla.

Unfortunately, all three of them are not acting the way Noah would like them to. Blithe pees himself and Rodrigo drops a mini bomb in a restaurant. After Noah the deal has handled the drug dealer Karl, he must horrified find that Rodrigo also its cocaine worth 10,000 US dollars stole. Since it breaks, he owes Karl either the appropriate amount or the value of the material. He has an hour to raise the money and meet Karl at the Wings Fish Market in Chinatown.

So Noah and the three children visit Wendy Sapperstein's bar mitzvah , where he meets his classmate Roxanne, who immediately invites him to eat together. But since he is busy stealing Sapperstein's money and is also in a hurry, he rejects Roxanne's offer. Unfortunately, he only collects $ 3,000 and then his car is stolen. He wants to go to his father to ask him for money. Since his car is gone, he takes the subway there with the three children. However, his father refuses to help him, so that Noah steals his Mercedes and then breaks into his father's jewelry store to buy diamonds so that he can then use them to settle Karl's debts. On the way he discovers his stolen car. Thanks to his courage, he gets the key back and the thief even promises to help him if he should ever have problems. Roxanne watches all of this and they both get closer. However, Noah has to save Marisa first.

Because he ran over a red light on the way to Marisa's party, he was stopped by the police. He is arrested for Rodrigo's klobombe and the stolen diamonds. Noah seems to have to spend the night in prison, but the police simply run away with the diamonds. That saves Noah for now. He rushes to 37 Huron Street, where Marisa is having her party. Before he can save her, Karl appears. Noah and Marisa flee from him and again the student shows courage when he confronts Karl alone, while Marisa can escape with the three children. When the "Black Gang" appears, who had previously stolen Noah's car and fights with Karl, Noah is able to escape.

He brings Marisa home and then drives the children back to the Pedullas' house, where he pretends that nothing has happened the whole evening. When the children's parents appear, they gently escort him to the door. Roxanne is waiting for him outside.

criticism

"Striking comedy that sends its unsympathetic 'hero' from one crude situation to the next in a loveless sequence of individual scenes, and in the process triggers less subversive humor than astonishment."

“It is amazing that you are still staging stale gags like this. Director David Gordon Green has already proven his cinematic ineptitude with ' Ananas Express '. Unfortunately, there are still enough people who laugh with such garbage. So one will probably not be spared from level tears like this in the future either. "
