Max Sulzbachner

Max Sulzbachner (born January 31, 1904 in Basel ; † August 24, 1985 in Basel ) was a Swiss painter , graphic artist , illustrator , mask and set designer . He was a co-founder of the artists' association Rot-Blau II and Gruppe 33 , lantern painter for the Basel Carnival and dialect writer in Swiss-German . Some of his works emerged from the competitions of the Kunstkredit Basel-Stadt . Together with Peter Surava and Charles Ferdinand Vaucher , he published the literary-satirical newspaper Der Grüne Heinrich from 1945 onwards .
