Max Wladimirowitsch Alpert (born March 18, 1899 in Simferopol , Taurian Governorate , Russian Empire , † November 30, 1980 in Moscow ) was a Soviet photojournalist . He is one of the most important representatives of reportage and documentary photography.
One of his most famous works, on which he was co-author, is the photo story A Day in the Life of the Filipov Family .
From 1924 Max Alpert worked as a photo correspondent for the Arbeiter-Zeitung and from 1929 to 1931 for Pravda . From 1931 to 1940 he was a member of the USSR under construction magazine . Alpert was also a founding member of the Russian Society of Proletarian Photographers ( ROPF ).
