Maximilian Ebenauer (* December 20, 1819 ; † 1891 ) from Langenzenn in Middle Franconia was a German entrepreneur in the textile industry .

Life

Maximilian Ebenauer learned the textile trade in his uncle's cotton mill in Schaffhausen ( Switzerland ) before opening a factory in Schweinfurt in 1846 . In 1850 he bought the site of a paper mill in Jägertal, which is now called Elisenfels after the villa on the rock, which Max Ebenauer and his wife Elise lived in . At the new location, the existing hydropower and the favorable price at which the property could be acquired from a foreclosure auction were probably interesting . In Elisenfels the cotton spinning mill Ebenauer & Co. produced until 1921. From 1874 he was also involved in the spinning mill at Teufelsberg ( Hof / Saale ), which in 1973 became part of the Vogtland cotton mill and thus the textile group Hof .

progeny

Maximilian Ebenauer's son Ferdinand continued the business, his son Hermann later took over the management of the Hermann Ebenauer & Co spinning mill in Hof / Saale.
